Small farmers gave away more than 20 tons of fresh produce in front of Congress on Tuesday in Buenos Aires to demand the approval of several laws that would give access to land to thousands of peasant families.

Many people rushed to get free lettuce, chard, parsley, and cabbage, among other vegetables.Farmers have submitted this bill since 2016 to provide farmland to small farmers, who complain about how most of the country's land is increasingly concentrated in a few commodity-producing companies. In the midst of an economy in crisis, Argentines are struggling to cope with accelerating inflation, one of the highest in the world.
