South Korean public broadcaster KBS projects that the main opposition Democratic Party has maintained its parliamentary majority following Wednesday's general election.

KBS calculates that the party and its ally will secure more than 170 seats in the 300-seat National Assembly. President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is soon to enter his third year in office, is anticipated to face ongoing challenges in advancing his policies, given that his ruling People Power Party holds a minority position in the legislature.
