




Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung accompanied by Yangon Region Government Minister for Ethnic Affairs, officials from the departments of labour affairs and members of Yangon Region Child Labours Elimination Committee visited Skills Training Center (Yankin) and gave a remark at the opening ceremony of Welding training (4/2024), Air-Conditioning Installation and Repairing training (3/2024) on 24th October.
In his opening remark, the Union Minister said that the Prime Minister has directed to focus on implementing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs and capacity-building courses to produce skilled workers.
Additionally, there are plans to assemble experts by region to draft and execute relevant programs, as well as to provide the necessary support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in terms of skilled labor and technical needs.
The Ministry of Labor is continuously opening trainings for skills development and offering vocational training courses that align with labor market demands. The youth attending this training are urged to systematically acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in their fields of work and apply them in real-world environments upon completing the training courses.
After that, the Union Minister visited ASIA OPTICAL Factory in Mingaladon Industrial Zone, met with the responsible persons of the factory, gave necessary instruction, viewed around the factory and encouraged the status of workers working peacefully.
Next, the Union Minister visited Skills Training Center in Dagon Myothit (North), met with workers who will work in Thailand, Korea nad Japan, gave necessary instruction and inspected the status of preparing for cleaning and tidiness in the compound of training center.
