Skill upgrading seminar: Chief Minister attends opening ceremony

A seminar on skill upgrading of Taninthayi Region Basic Education high school/middle school level subject of the Basic Education Department for 2023-2024 academic year was opened at the No.3 Basic Education High School in Dawei on Tuesday. Firstly, the trainer teachers sung the song, “Our responsibility”.

At the event, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that in order to improve teaching skills which is important for the development of education sector, teachers play a key role.With the aim of upgrading teaching skills of the teachers who are teaching at the high, middle and primary schools, the skill upgrading seminars are held.

As an effort for the basic education reforms, the new KG curriculum started in 2016-2017 and in the 2023-2024 academic year, the Grade-9 and Grade-12 classes will be taught with the new curriculum.The Chief Minister called for the principals and teachers to discuss actively their needs, difficulties and problem solving methods to effectively apply them in their teaching times. 

Later, an official explained about opening of the course and the District Education officer reported on rules and regulations of the course. 509 trainers from Dawei district, 1,840 from Myeik district and 376 from Kawthaung district attended the seminar and it will be conducted till 24th March.
