Fake news has surfaced on social media, falsely claiming that nine people were injured in an airstrike by the Tatmadaw in Meezar Village, Paletwa Township, Chin State, on November 20th.

The Tatmadaw asserts that its offensive operations target terrorists to maintain regional stability and uphold the rule of law. However, there were no armed exchanges reported in the specified location on November 20th. Investigation reveals that the AA Group is known to launch attacks on residential areas using heavy weapons, posing a threat to regional stability.

Seizing the opportunity during Tatmadaw's security operation, biased media outlets spread false information about Tatmadaw's alleged bombardment, diverting attention from the heavy weapon attacks initiated by the AA Group.
