Sino-Myanmar relation: MoLA Union Minister received Chinese ambassador

Union Minister for Legal Affairs Union Attorney General received H.E. Mr.ChenHai, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister for Legal Affairs Union Attorney General said that she attended the 59th Asia-Africa Legal Consultative Organization-AALCO by the invitation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China H.E Mr. Wong Yi, during AALCO, the theme of the conference “Upholding International Law for A Community of Shared Future: the Role of Asian and African Countries” proposed by the PRC was supported.

It’s prepared to sign MoU between China- ASEAN Legal Research Center and Ministry of Legal Affairs based on the Sino-Myanmar bilateral friendship relation.According to the MoU, the cooperation in the field of Legislative Research, Cultivation of Legal Talents and Legal Consulting Services will be conducted.

Regarding with the capacity building, the law officers from the Ministry of Legal Affairs sent to PRC to broaden their horizon on the legal affairs and the international experience. The discussion between China and Myanmar is underway to host the China-ASEAN Prosecutors General Conference in Myanmar and the PRC is thankful for the supports and assistances provided for Myanmar.

The ambassador H.E. Mr.ChenHai said it’s sympathised on the people affected by Cyclone Mocha, the PRC will support in the rehabilitation tasks, the necessary assistance will be provided for the matter on signing MoU and PRC will increase cooperation in the issues of legislation, judiciary and and rule of law. The Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone Deep Seaport Project is wanted to implement as quickly as possible.
