
On April 21st, Pope Francis passed away. In his memory, a book of condolences has been opened at the Apostolic Nunciature to Myanmar (Holy See/Vatican City State), located at No. 46(C), Aung Taw Mu Lane, Thanlwin Road, Shwe Taung Gyar, Bahan Township, Yangon.
At 1:00 PM on April 23rd, U Ko Ko Hlaing Union Minister for Ministry (2) at the Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, visited the Apostolic Nunciature and signed the book of condolences.
First, the Union Minister cordially met with the Chargé d'affaires and officials of the Nunciature in the reception hall, expressing condolences and sympathy regarding the passing of Pope Francis. Afterwards, he signed the book of condolences.
It is noted that Pope Francis began serving as Pope in 2013 and made an official goodwill visit to Myanmar in 2017.
