Significant Occasion: Rakhine State observes 76th anniversary Independence Day

The 76th anniversary Independence Day ceremony took place at Danyawady Sports Ground in Sittwe on Thursday. At 4:20 am in the morning, the state flag hoisting ceremony took place. Then, the ceremony to read out the 76th anniversary Independence Day message continued.

The Myanmar Police Force and Military Columns marched in the ground and saluted Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin. The attendees later saluted the state flag and fallen soldiers. Then, the message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was read out by the Chief Minister.

The ceremony saw the attendance of State Ministers, senior military officers from Sittwe Station, Counsellors from Bangladesh and India, community elders, national races representatives and students. On separate occasion, the Chief Minister attended a ceremony to present prizes to the winners of commemorative competitions for the 76th anniversary Independence Day.

In his speech, the Chief Minister said on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the government confers honorary titles to those who excelled in performing state duties. Likewise, the fun activities, sports events and competitions have been organized to honour the significant day.

He urged all to continue participating in the commemorative activities in the coming years. Then, the prizes were presented to the wines of healthy babies, essay and poem contests, and futsal tournament.
