Side Stickers for City Taxis: Over 60,000 taxis registered in Yangon Region

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) has implementing the side stickers registration system for the city taxis with the aims to provide the reliable passenger transportation services, city taxis comply with regulations in Yangon Region, and align the city’s characteristics.

According to an official of YRTC, there are over 60,000 city taxis have already registered their number and side stickers in Yangon Region and more than 4,000 city taxis have been processing in registering.

For the registration process, there will be need the name of the current owner in the car registration book, proof of the license renewal, business license part 1 and 2, the ID card, address and contact number of the vehicle owner and driver, and the driver license.

During the installation process, the taxis in each township will get the represent symbolic number such as the number for taxis in Taikkyi Township is No.1, Htantabin Township is No.2, and Mingaladon Township is No.3.

For the registration process, a total of 8300 kyats will be cost including fees for side sticker number, registration, driver’s license and license card system.
