Showing symptoms of food-poisoning: 133 people in Oak Twin Tsp. received medical treatment

In the morning on 18th September, 2024, the villagers consumed the fried vermicelli and sauce, rice, egg curry with tamarind sauce donated by the well-wishers at Shwe Phyu Yadana monastery in Wet Phyu Kone Village of Oak Twin Township, Taungoo District, Bago Region and the villagers showed the symptoms of food poisoning at about 8 PM. They were transferred to the hospitals, 68 of them as outpatients and 65 as inpatients in Taungoo People’s Hospital and received medical treatment giving by the medical specialists from Taungoo People’s Hospital and Taungoo Township and they are responding to the treatment and showing improvement.

As soon as receiving the information, the Deputy Director General of Bago Region Department of Public Health and Medical Service, the ground medical teams from Oak Twin Township and Nyaung Lay Pin Township are carrying out the disease controlling measures.

Among them, 42 inpatients have recovered and were permitted to discharge from the hospital in the morning on 19th September.

It is urged the well-wishers to provide warm, clean and safe food donations through the supervisory Bodies and Management Teams of relevant Township administrative offices to ensure proper distribution and hygiene at the temporary shelters, where management teams are to oversee the food supplies to maintain health standards.
