Shanghai’s Major Municipal Projects Returns to Pre-COVID Levels

The pace of progress of major municipal projects in Shanghai has basically returned to pre-COVID levels, and teams are striving to complete the goals ahead of schedule. Some of these projects are expected to see key junctures around the beginning of next month.

Huang Ye, project manager of the metro train parking space, said that at the peak, the excavation volume of the foundation pit reached 28,000 cubic meters per day, and 468 underground diaphragm walls were completed in one month. This volume is also one of the highest in Shanghai.

Jin Yan, deputy director of the Shanghai Major Project Office and Construction Committee, said that among the 191 major projects, 176 are under construction and 15 are planned; the 176 existing projects have been fully resumed construction, and 11 new projects have been launched so far.

The Shanghai major project office and construction committee stated that it will further strengthen the support and promotion of key projects this year, especially the projects in the fields of infrastructure and industrial cultivation.
