








The 78th Anniversary Shan State Day was held in Taunggyi on 7th February.
On the occasion, member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Thiri Pyan Chi Sithu Yar Pyae read out the commemorative message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Mahar Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing. Shan State Chief Minister Zeya Kyaw Htin U Aung Aung also made an opening remark.
This was followed by ceremonial ribbon cutting event to officially inaugurate the exhibition booths in commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Shan State Day. The exhibition featured the various booths on ethnic traditional foods, departmental exhibition and MSME products. Then, the awarding ceremony of presenting certificates of honour took place at the City Hall.
During the event, certificates of honour and gifts were presented to 44 recipients of Excellence in Administration (First, Second and Third Classes) and 12 recipients for outstanding performance in Security and Rule of Law as well as the recipients of excellence in security and rule of law, social performance and sports sector.
During the ceremony, 53 million kyats worth of solar and basic foodstuff were provided for the displaced locals and staff in Shan State due to armed conflict. In addition, sport equipment were presented for the development of Shan State’s sports sector.
