Shan, Rakhine & Kayah Situations: SAC Information Team makes clarification

Regarding the fighting situation in northern Shan State, Rakhine State and Loikaw Township of Kayah State, leader of the Information Team of the State Administration CouncilMajor General Zaw Min Tun stressed that the KNPP and PDF terrorists launched coordinated attacks on the Myanmar Tatmadaw across the northern Shan State and in Rakhine State since November 9.

The military’s command in Theinni Township has been carrying out safety measures. In Loikaw Township, the terrorist groups attacked the Loikaw University and tried to abduct academic staff and students. The Tatmadaw security forces carried out to move the education staff and students to safety places.

Also, the AA group seized a border guard police outpost in Rakhine State and the Tatmadaw (Army) and Navy conducted a joint operation. In Sagaing Region, Htigyaing township is under control by Tatmadaw and Tatmadaw is chasing down the combined KIA and AA group around Htigyaing township area.

The terrorist group is destroying state and public property and invading education and health facilities using them as bunkers. The people, together with the military, must root out and eradicate the terrorists who are carrying out terrorist acts.
