The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism continues efforts to recover smuggled cultural assets worldwide.
Following meticulous work by the Ministry’s Department of Anti-Smuggling, seven historical artifacts have been returned to Türkiye. The Minister of Culture and Tourism presented the repatriated pieces at Bodrum Castle.
The collection includes a gold earring, two Roman glass artifacts, two Late Bronze Age statues, and a multi-branched oil lamp. The Minister noted that these efforts have also reduced global demand for smuggled Anatolian artifacts.
