Serbian president Vucic declares victory in snap parliamentary polls

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and outgoing Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said their Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won snap parliamentary elections on Sunday.

Official results are set to be announced late on Monday. The right-wing SNS looked poised to expand their presence in the 250-seat parliament with Sunday's results.

The SNS still faced potentially hard-fought municipal races in the capital Belgrade, particularly from the coalition of opposition parties and candidates running under the Serbia Against Violence banner.
