Sepak Takraw Competition: Mon State Chief Minister’s Cup commenced

2023 Mon State Chief Minister’s Cup U-25 Men/Women Sepak Takraw competition was opened at the State stadium in Mawlamyine on 3rd August.

The opening ceremony was attended by State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, South East Command Commander Brig-Gen Soe Min, State ministers, departmental officials and sport enthusiasts.

On the occasion, the State Chief Minister said the competition aims to emerge the Sepak Takraw athletes in Mon State, to improve the sport standard by participating in this sport event, to have achievement at the State/Region competitions and to nurture the selected athletes.

He also urged to strive to become the outstanding athletes who can bring prestige to the State. Then the participants recited the sport oath before commencing the event.

At the opening match, Mawlamyine team and Mudon team played the Sepak Takraw Men’s double event and the State Chief Minister and party enjoyed the event. The competition will be held from 3rd to 7th August.
