2024 Bago Region Chief Minister’s Cup U-25 Inter Township Men SepakTakraw Competition commenced on Thursday morning. The opening ceremony was held at the stadium of Bago Region Sports Park in OttharMyoThit of Bago Township in the presence of Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stressed that the competition is organized for the emergence of young and talented Sepak Takraw athletes from respective townships wihin Bago Region who can raise the presitge of the nation.
He also urged the athletes to take part in the competition, making exerted efforts and displaying sportsmanship to enhance the standard of the Sepak Takraw sports of Bago Region. It was followed by the reciting of sports oath by the athletes.
The drum and bugle corps from No.3 Basic Education High School also performed during the ceremony, and the Chief Minister presented cash award to the corps. The opening match of the competition saw Oak Twin and Htan Ta Pin townships teams. The 2024 Bago Region Chief Minister’s Cup U-25 Inter Township Men Sepak Takraw Competition is set to be held from 9th to 13th of May and a total of 28 teams from 28 townships are participating in the competition.
