Seminar on Labor Dispute Resolution: MoL UM attended and gave an opening speech

Union Minister for Labor, U Myint Naung, attended a seminar on labor dispute resolution held at the City Hall of the Mandalay City Development Committee Office in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region on 21st November.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the seminar on labor dispute resolution aims to effectively address disputes between employers and employees in accordance with the law and achieve positive outcomes. He explained that the event seeks to foster amicable resolutions to disputes and improve workplace relations by promoting initial dialogue between employers and employees, the Workplace Coordinating Committees (WCC), comprising representatives from both employers and employees, have been established in factories and workplaces with more than 30 workers.

These committees are designed to facilitate negotiations and resolve issues at the workplace level. The Union Minister emphasized the need for representatives involved in the dispute resolution mechanism to act impartially, without bias, while respecting the rights of both employers and employees.

He urged the participants to work with fairness and focus on the interests of both parties, without aligning with any specific group or organization.

Next, the Union Minister visited the Skill Training Center (Mandalay), oversaw the installing of class room ceiling, construction of annexed building and giving Airconditioning Installation and Repairing training (2/2024), heard the clarifications on status of opening trainings within 2024-2025 fiscal year and gave necessary instructions.
