


Under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, authorities have conducted nationwide inspections on July 10 and 11, resulting in the seizure of illegal goods and unlicensed vehicles. During these operations, consumer goods, industrial items, and food products worth over 678 million kyat were confiscated from 5 trucks without proper documents in Kayin State.
Likewise in Bago Region, unlicensed goods worth over 84 million kyat were found on two vehicles traveling to Mandalay and Yangon. In Mandalay Region, several types of food, household, and industrial goods worth 155 million kyat were seized from three vehicles.
In Shan State, 65 types of untaxed consumer goods valued at over 45 million kyat were found stored along a roadside near Muse. In Yangon, inspections at Shwe Mae Port and roads near Bago uncovered illegal goods and vehicles, including a cargo boat and several trucks, with total estimated value of over 3.27 billion kyat. In addition, Myanmar Police Force seized 7 unlicensed vehicles and 28 unregistered motorcycles.
In total, 44 cases involving goods worth over 4.23 billion kyat were recorded over two days. Authorities warn that illegal trade harms fair competition and results in tax losses for the country, and pledged to strengthen enforcement efforts.
