Seed Sowing Event: Part Of Seed Fair Week 2022

The Seed Fair Week 2022 at the Institute of Agriculture in Pyinmana Township on Tuesday included a sunn hemp seed sowing event. In the event, Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo stressed the importance of the use of quality seeds, soil and green manure for improvement in agriculture sector.

Also, the Union Minister and officials viewed the sunn hemp seed sowing event conducted by the farmers, growers and students from the Institute of Agriculture. This year, the Institute has been working on the green manure project, and the awareness programme will be carried out in 23,000 acres of farmland in regions and states.

The Union Minister also attended a review on the seed sector development discussions, roundtable discussions during the Seed Fair Week, outcome and suggestions. The Seed Fair Week 2022 organized by the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation was held from the 18th to the 22nd of February to develop the use of quality seeds and provide the socio-economic status of the country with a high production rate using quality seeds.
