Security Measures: Efforts for security in Zayatkyi

On 7th of February, KNLA and PDF terrorist groups launched a coordinated assault on local battalion in Zayatkyi of Htantapin Township in Bago Region and the insurgents retreated in disarray due to the powerful counter attack and airstrike by the Tatmadaw. On Thursday Morning, the security forces conducted security operations in Zayatkyi Township and found out that 1,200 ft long Sittaung River Crossing Bridge over KyawlPwe-Zayatkyi road was destroyed by the insurgents.

This destruction occurred before they initiated attacks on local battalion in the early hours of Wednesday morning in order to cut the route for reinforcement. The security forces also seized the bodies of insurgents and weapons stored in Alin Saytaman Ambulance and discovered that the insurgents are using ambulances in transporting injured persons, weapons and firearms for terrorist activities.

At the same time, the security operations were conducted in villages located in the west of Zayatkyi Township and seized the bodies of insurgents and weapons abandoned by the retreating insurgents. According to the local residents, the insurgents also set fire to some residential areas while retreating in disarray.
