Security Measures: Efforts to eradicate online scams in border areas

According to the tip-off, a combined security forces raided the illegal online scam and gambling business in Tant Yan Township in Shan State (North) on March 12th.

During the operation, they forces arrested 165 illegal foreign nationals and one local along with the seizure of furniture, 2 sets of Star Link, 30 assorted mobile handsets and 5 All in One computers. These illegal activities have been running in the 200 x 60 ft hall-type building.

There is also five temporary buildings for settlement. Plans are underway to take legal actions against those arrested individuals, and they will be deported to their respective countries. The government is striving to combat illegal online scam in border areas in collaboration with organizations from neighbouring countries and international communities.
