Fishers in central Japan have landed on Wednesday the season's first catch of spiny lobsters. The town's spiny lobster catch has been in annual decline.

The town's lobster fishing will continue through mid-May next year. One fisher said it's getting harder to catch the lobsters because the seaweed where they live is disappearing. He expressed hope that the seaweed will grow again because the large meandering of the "Kuroshio," or Black Current in the Pacific Ocean, is said to have ended.
