





The students from Myanmar Maritime University for 2023-2024 academic year made a sea training visit to Yangon-Coco Island-Hai Gyi Island-Yangon by Chindwin Vessel of Tatmadaw (Navy) organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Defense and the office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) from 4th to 9th October.
A total of 213 2nd and 3rd year students from Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, MESE, Naval Architecture, Marine Mechanical and they were supervised by 8 instructors. They left from Myanmar Internationals Terminal Thilawa on the evening of 4th October and arrived at Coco Island on 5th October.
They were welcomed by military officers and departmental officials who explained about the Coco Island in the city hall. After that, students toured the city and arrived at Hai Gyi Island on the morning of 7th October and the Commandant of Pammawati Navy Base explained about the location of the Island to the students.
In the morning of 8th October, students conducted studies about the life boat, anchor and engines on the Chindwin vessel and they returned to Thilawa Terminal on the 9th of October.
During the sea training, the students from Myanmar Maritime University made daily routine work, seamanship, coastal navigation, cargo work, the main engines, generators, pumps and motors, and driving electronic equipment in both practically and theoretically.
