Sea-going Mobile Hospital: Medical services provided to the local residents

The Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) with the Medical Teams comprised of specialists, medical officers and nurses from Tatmadaw and the Ministry of Health onboard is on the tour to provide medical services to the residents of Rakhine State Coastal region.

The Medical Teams comprised of specialists, medical officers and nurses continued giving medical services to the local residents from neighboring villages in Man Aung Township who underwent the operation and provided eye glasses for those who underwent eye operation, nutrient foods and gifts. 

The mobile medical teams stations at Man Aung Township Hall and provided healthcare services to 1678 local residents from Man Aung Township and neighboring villages in the township.

The mobile medical team provided medical services, surgical operations obstetric/gynecologic diseases, pediatric diseases, orthopedic diseases, Ear Nose Throat related diseases, eye diseases and dental diseases.

Moreover, the medical team also carried out the general operation for 11 patients, 18 patients of eye diseases, 9 patients examined with X-ray, 145 patients with ultrasound scan, 90 patients with ECG and 44 patients with lab tests. And the team made necessary arrangements for 3 patient who needs medical services at the hospital to receive medical treatments at the nearest Tatmadaw hospital. 

On providing healthcare service by the Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin), the local residents expressed their happiness and words of thanks.

Local resident said "A lump formed in the back of my mother. It’s coincident with the tour of medical services by Tatmadaw Sea-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin). I made her to see a doctor and everything is convenient. We are very happy to know the tour of mobile hospital vessel. People cannot afford to undergo treatment in big cities through the transportation of air, water and road transportation. I wish for the wellbeing of the head of state who sent the mobile hospital vessel to us."

Midwife (Rural Health Center), Local resident said "I’m helping the mobile medical team in their services for the people. I’m a resident of Man Aung. The medical services given by the mobile medical team is really crucial for the Man Aung Islanders as the people in the island have many difficulties to receive medical treatment in other place. So, it’s greatly beneficial for the residents. I’d like to express words of thanks to the head of state given guidelines and the mobile medical team on behalf of all local residents. "
