Sea and River-going hospital vessels: Tatmadaw medical teams to provide medical treatments

The Tatmadaw River-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Shwe Puzun) and riverine boat (Saku) with the Tatmadaw Mobile Medical Teams comprised of specialists, medical officers and nurses onboard to provide healthcare services to the local people from villages in delta area along the Ayeyarwady River departed from No.4 Naval Harbor in Yangon in the morning on January 14 and the Tatmadaw sea-going hospital vessel (Thanlwin) which includes specialists, medical officers, and nurses from Tatmadaw mobile medical team left the No. (2) Naval Harbor (Thanlyin) in the afternoon to provide medical services to the local people of Coco islands in Yangon Region, people from villages and townships along the Taninthayi coastal region and people from Haing Gyi Kyun Township and villages, were seen off by Senior officials, officers, ranks and families from Tatmataw (Navy).

The Tatmadaw River-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Shwe Puzun), riverine boat (Saku) and Tatmadaw sea-going hospital vessel (Thanlwin) which includes specialists, medical officers, and nurses from Tatmadaw mobile medical team will provide medical treatments for patients needed surgeries, patients with obstetric/gynecological diseases, child disease, orthopaedic disease, eye/ ear/nose/throat, oral disease and General diseases.

The services will also include diagnostic tests such as X-rays, ultrasound, and disease identification through specialized disease experts, ECG, and diagnostic imaging equipment and laboratory test.

Additionally, in case of emergencies, if required, hospital treatment will be available on board the River-going Mobile Hospital Vessel (Shwe Puzun), riverine boat (Saku), which can accommodate up to 30 patients, as well as on Tatmadaw sea-going hospital vessel (Thanlwin), which can treat up to 25 patients. The vessels are equipped with operating rooms, obstetrics rooms, testing rooms, and specialized treatment facilities.
