The Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister for the Ministry of National Planning U Kyaw Htin departed from Yangon to Moscow on November 16 to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Sustainable Development, held in conjunction with the SCO Council of Heads of Government Meeting in Moscow, Russia. The delegation returned to Yangon on November 19.

On November 17, the Deputy Minister participated in the "Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in SCO member states and partner countries" section of the Forum, held at the Moscow ESG Center. During his discussion, the Deputy Minister stated that Myanmar is prioritizing the implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He explained that, in line with the "Leave No One Behind" principle, Myanmar is integrating the SDGs into its national development plans and policy frameworks for implementation. He noted that SCO member states are countries with diverse experiences, rich resources, and shared aspirations. Therefore, the SCO is a highly suitable organization for working collectively towards building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable region. He further expressed that Myanmar will work closely with SCO member states and dialogue partners within the SCO cooperation mechanism.

It is reported that this year's Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Sustainable Development was attended by a total of 34 delegates from 15 countries, including SCO member states.
