



A scientific conference focusing on the history and culture of the Mongolia’s Uriankhai people was successfully held last weekend. The event aimed to highlight the significance of the Uriankhai people’s historical heritage and cultural traditions while promoting further academic research and development in the field.
Throughout the conference, scholars presented their research and exchanged ideas on a wide range of topics, including the origins of the Uriankhai people, their oral and written heritage, traditional customs, and national sports with particular attention given to the evolution of Uriankhai archery. Notably, Uriankhai-style archery, which traditionally opens the annual National Naadam Festival, was recognized during the conference as a vivid and enduring symbol of the group’s cultural identity.
