






Seminar on assesses the status of STI in Myanmar and the role of STI in supporting sustainable and inclusive development in Myanmar with the different stakeholders was held at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Nay Pyi Taw for two days on 8th and 9th August to draft a Road Map on the Science and Technology Innovation for Myanmar that is undertaken by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2022).
In the seminar, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw said that the science, technology and innovation are the main driving force for all round development of a developing country and experts and technicians from relevant ministries, representatives of UMFCCI and delegates of MSME enterprises discussed with attendees to adopt appropriate ways and means for the current undertakings of science, technology and innovation development, the needs and gaps and future work plans.
The group discussions were made to discuss measures for good management in science and technology, qualified human resource development, boosting cooperation with private organizations and universities and research centers to support research and new technologies for MSMEs development and the program to access the tasks for drafting a Road Map.
The seminar was also attended by Deputy Minister Dr Aung Zeya, permanent secretary, Directors-General, departmental officials, representatives of UMFCCI and MSME enterprises.
