School Library Development: Reading habit promotion activities in Sittwe

A Ceremony for School Library Development and Reading Habit Promotion Activity was held at No.(1) Basic Education High School in Sittwe of Rakhine State on 26th September.

This Ceremony was jointly organized by Rakhine State Government, the Department of Information and Public Relations and Department of Basic Education. Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended the ceremony and encouraged the students participating in the reading proficiency competition for high school and middle school levels.

They provided teaching aid and refreshments, while also encouraging students as they explored the library. Additionally, the Chief Minister donated books and periodicals to the school library on behalf of the Rakhine State Government.

After that, the Chief Minister and party toured the school hall to observe and encourage students participating in the essay writing competition for high school and middle school levels, coordinating with the responsible individuals.

The Chief Minister and party also observed the cyclone awareness quiz competition which is held for the students to enhance knowledge about cyclone risks. They also enjoyed the students participating in the puzzle and proverb competitions. Following this, the Chief Minister and party awarded students who won the competitions with teaching aid and honorary gifts.
