School library development: MGY Region CM gave an opening remark

The opening ceremony of the school library development and raising reading habit festival was held at No (1) Basic Education High School of Thayet Township in Magway Region in the morning on 18th August.

First, the Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and Region Ministers opened the arc-entrance of the festival by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, posed for the documentary photo and provided cash of honor to the school Drum and Bugle and Pom Pom dance groups.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials viewed round the exhibition booths, school library, Games competition and book shops.

At the second part of the ceremony, the students performed with the song of “blooming of most beautiful flowers” and a video clip on “The variety of literature is to be luxuriant” was shown.

Next, the Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin gave an opening remark.

After that, the students performed with the song, presented gift to the writer Aung Soe (Thayet) who contributed in the literary talk, prizes to the winners in the literary debate, impromptu talk, essay, story-telling and poem reciting contests and provided cash of honor to the students took part in the entertainment program and books were donated for the school library.

The school library development and raising reading habit festival was held from 17th to 18th August, it’s reported.
