School Health Week : Mandalay Region CM attends commemorative ceremony

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung attended the regional-level commemorative ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year School Health Week Movement, held on August 14 at Basic Education High School No. 14 in Chanayethazan Township.

The ceremony was opened with students performing the song "Primary Focus on Health". In his opening remarks, the Chief Minister stated that to reduce premature deaths, students must be trained from their school days to adopt healthy lifestyles.

He emphasized that school health programs and nutrition development initiatives must be given high priority, calling for effective implementation through the utmost cooperation of all involved. Following that, the Chief Minister enjoyed the musical performances by the students.

And, he presented cash awards and certificates of honor to the winners of the middle and high school essay competitions, as well as a cash reward to the performing group. Afterwards, the Chief Minister toured the exhibition booths and observed the individual health check-ups for students and the school nutrition feeding program.
