School Health Week: Commemorative activities held at B.E.H.S (3), Dawei

A commemorative ceremony on school health week activities for 2023-2024 academic year was conducted at No.3 Basic Education High School in Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region on Saturday.

In the ceremony, Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the ceremony intended for the entire public, including students, education and healthcare workers to promote awareness, to strengthen cooperation in school activities, to gain assistance for the emergence of clean and healthy school environs and to achieve long-term sustainability.

As the young students play a key role for the nation in future, the basic education schools are fundamental ground to train those students in a systematic manner to become talented citizens, he added.

The Ministry of Health is actively carrying out to promote the health standards, practice healthy habits and create a healthy and happy learning environment for the young students in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The Chief Minister called for cooperation and collaboration of all concerned departments and organizations as well as the students, parents and entire community for the success of these efforts.

Then, the Chairman of the School Health Committee gave an explanation on the purpose of the activities of the School Health Week and the fitness dance was performed by the staff of the Regional Department of Sports and Physical Education.

After that, the Chief Minister and officials awarded the students who won prizes in essay, poster and painting contests marking the school health week campaign, followed by screening of a video clip commemorating school health awareness.

Then, Chief Minister encouraged the provision of nutrition supplements and anti-worm medicines to KG students and viewed the activities and commemorative booths of the school health week activity displayed by the 8 Basic Education High Schools.
