





A commemorative ceremony on state level school health week activities for 2023-2024 academic year was conducted at No.1 Basic Education High School in Taunggyi Township of Tanintharyi Region on 15th August.
In the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the ceremony intended for the entire public, including students, education and healthcare workers to gain stronger supports in conducting school activities with higher health standard, to strengthen collaborative efforts, to gain assistance for the emergence of clean and healthy school environs and to achieve long-term sustainability.
The Chief Minister called for cooperation and collaboration of all concerned departments and organizations as well as the students, parents and entire community to turn out well-disciplined young outstanding students.
Therefore, he added, as the young students play a key role for the nation in future, the basic education schools are fundamental ground to train those students in a systematic manner such as organizing health awareness promoting activities and individual health knowledge among the students themselves.
Then, head of Shan State Medical Services and Public Health Department gave an explanation on the activities of the School Health Week.
After that, the Chief Minister and officials awarded the students who won prizes in essay, poster and painting contests marking the school health week campaign, followed by screening of a video clip commemorating school health awareness.
Then, the Chief Minister and wife, and concerned officials observed the commemorative booths, it’s reported.
