School Health Week: Ceremony Of School Health Week Held In Nay Pyi Taw

The Ceremony of School Health Week for 2018-2019 academic year organized by Department of Public Health (Nay Pyi Taw) was held at No (1) Basic Education High School, Zabuthiri Tsp in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The main goal of the annual National School Health Week is to spread the knowledge of school health among the people including teachers, students, and medical staffs and to promote good habits and learning skills of the students in their relevant schools environment by implementing school health activities for the whole academic year.

Deputy Head Officer, Department of Public Health (NPT), Dr. Aye Aye Mar said “The objectives are to raise students’ health standard, to apply the good habits of school health for long term, to organize it regularly in collaboration with the students, teachers, parents and people and to promote the National health level for the country.”

At the ceremony, the demonstration of hand sanitization and tooth brushing by students systematically, medical check-up program, school health educative booths and activities were also included.

It is also learnt that, knowledge sharing, environmental cleansing, disease control, nutrition development and food safety and health care services were designated as the major school base activities for this year.

During the ceremony, the winners of cartoon, poem, essay and paintings competitions were also awarded to mark the School Health Week.
