







The Central level commemorative ceremony of School Health Week jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health for the academic year of 2023-2024 took place on Wednesday at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw.
In his remarks, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe stressed that students' fitness is the foundation for a well-rounded education system, and the improvement of students' academic standards depends greatly on their health.
The school health sector is a process that must be taken seriously in basic education schools. The Ministry of Education aims to improve the health and nutrition of school-age children through school-based programs, the Union Minster added.
Also, in his address, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win said that since young students will be the main force in the country's development process in the future, they must be trained starting from basic education schools, so the Ministry of Health is working with the Ministry of Education to establish healthy schools throughout the country.
The Union Minister also called for cooperation from students, parents and officials and staff of the two ministries. This ceremony included a performance programme by students and an awarding ceremony for departments of public health which made the utmost efforts for school health processes.
There, the union ministers and officials also viewed round the commemorative booths. The ceremony also continued at the No. 11 Basic Education High School in Zabuthiri Township. School Health Week is to know the importance of school health and how it not only affects the health and development of the students, but how it also contributes to the country.
The 2023-2024 academic year School Health Week activities and commemorative ceremonies will also be conducted in Nay Pyi Taw, regions and states.
