School enrolment week :School enrolment week set from 23rd to 31st of May

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the school enrolment week was set from 23rd to 31st of May for having learning opportunities of  all school-age children.

In accordance with the slogan "let's send all school-aged children to school”, all parents must send the school-age children to school for having equal learning opportunities for all school-age children nationwide. For this academic year, the new curriculums are going to be conducted for Grade 9 and 12 students. Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, 51 industry, agriculture and livestock breeding high schools will be opened in 50 districts across the country.

In addition, KG+9 passers who want to gain a career foundation will be able to learn the vocational subjects such as the Industry, Agriculture and Livestock breeding subjects in Grade 10, 11 and 12.

According to the census of 2019, most of the students left school at the end of primary education, and the rate of schooling starts to decline from the age of 12. And also, after the age of 14, the number of out-of-school children has been increasing significantly after the completion of middle education.

Therefore, concerted efforts should be made in order for all school-age children in Myanmar to gain equal learning opportunities at least till KG+9 and to improve future education sector.
