








“The Ministry of Education is working not only to ensure that all school-age children remain in school, but also to support children who are out of school for various reasons by conducting placement tests as part of special education programs.
In addition, the Ministry is expanding out-of-school education programs. Regardless of the circumstances, the Ministry is cooperating with relevant local organizations to create learning opportunities so that children do not become disconnected from education,” said Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein during the 2026–2027 Academic Year School Enrollment Day Ceremony held in the morning on May 25th, at Zabu Shwe Kyar Hall of Basic Education High School No. (14), in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Union Minister further stated that, in order to create employment opportunities related to industry, agriculture, and livestock breeding, the ministry has already opened 89 basic education industrial, agricultural, and livestock breeding High schools. Therefore, industrial, agricultural, and livestock-related subjects have now been introduced at the middle school level, and students who are interested will also have opportunities to continue studying these subjects at the high school level.
Afterwards, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council U Kan Myint Than delivered an address.
Following this, the Union Minister, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing, and responsible officials distributed free textbooks, stationery, school uniforms, and school supplies. Later, the Union Minister and officials visited classrooms to observe the school enrollment process for students and distributed textbooks and stationery supplies, it’s reported.
