Scholz welcomed by Ruto in Nairobi

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday met with Kenyan President William Ruto in Nairobi. The leaders were expected to discuss economic relations between the two countries, regional conflicts and the use of renewable energies.

It was the second stop on Scholz's fourdays visit to the East African region. On Thursday, he visited Ethiopia and met with the head of the African Union (AU) which has its headquarters in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
