
The Ministry of Construction is undertaking Saw Ke Bridge construction project near Saw Ke village in Mawlamyaing Kyun Township of Ayeyawady Region.
Now, 35% of the whole bridge construction has been completed and the approach pillar task has been completed cent per cent at Mawlamyaing Kyun side, according to the worksite of Bridge Construction Project.
Saw Ke bridge is situated on Bogale-Mawlamyaing Kyun-Kyon Ma Nge-Wakema- Myaung Mya road across Saw Kae river. Construction Group-2 of Department of Bridge under the Ministry of Construction is implementing the bridge with a cost of 17,500 million kyats, according to the In-charge of the Bridge Construction Project.
It has 2,460 ft in length and 1.5 ft wide pedestrian lane on both sides. The motor way is 28-ft wide and it is two lane reinforced concrete type.
Currently, the approach tasks have been completed 100 percent at Mawlamyaing Kyun side and the truss installation and floor lying are being undertaken. The mid-pillar construction tasks has been completed 75 percent and bore pile drilling is being undertaken at Wakema side.
This is on the same route with Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Dala) project in Yangon Region. Upon completion of Dala bridge, it will be the second entrance way to Yangon by passing new Dala bridge through Twantay-Dedaye-Kunchan Kone. Saw Ke Bridge Construction project has started in July 2017 and it is expected to finish by the end of 2020.
