Saudia Group to buy 105 Airbus planes

Saudi Arabia's Saudia Group announced on Monday its plan to purchase 105 Airbus planes, marking the largest aircraft deal in the country's history.

The deal includes 54 A321neo aircraft for Saudia airline and 12 A320neo along with 39 A321neo planes for its budget offshoot, flyadeal, according to a statement.

Saleh Eid, vice president of fleet management and agreements said "This deal is a total of 105 air planes. And as I told you distributed between both operators under Saudia holding. 54 out of these 105 go to Saudia Airlines with regular Saudia two class configuration, business and economy, and 51 that are going to be allocated to at Flyadeal".

The purchase marks a further investment by Saudi airlines into the sector, coming more than a year after the introduction of the new carrier, Riyadh Air.
