Saudi Arabia has officially launched an electronic visa or e-visa for purposes of haj and umrah or minor haj, residence permits, and visits to the country for Indonesian Citizens.

The e-visa was officially launched by The Ambassador of the Saudi Arabian Kingdom to Indonesia, at the embassy of saudiarabia in south Jakarta on Thursday. The e-visa was launched to improve the quality of consular services and to provide easy facilities for those who wish to visit the kingdom.

The e-visa can read the data through QR code which replaces the visa sticker on the passport. This e-visa program is based on a directive from the Saudi Arabian kingdom in line with the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030.

In the first stage, the e-visa has been used in seven countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, and Indonesia.
