Satellite images of Mariupol damage, Irpin, Snake Island

Ukraine’s military said it repelled an attempt to take control of Mariupol by Russian forces, who were forced to retreat.Satellite images showed fires burning across the city, with many high-rise apartment buildings heavily damaged or destroyed.Images also showed cars backed up on a river bridge in the Kyiv suburb of Irpin, which has seen heavy fighting.Images from Snake Island, in the middle of the Black Sea, appear to show damaged buildings from Russian military strikes, and a Russian Naval ship is seen anchored off the island.
