SarsoBeikman Building: MOI Union Minister inspects the project site

Preparations are underway for the Stake Driving Ceremony of SarsoBeikman three- storey Building in Mingalataungnyunt Township of Yangon Region.

On Wednesday, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited the project site to observe the preparation measures. During the visit, the Union Minister instructed for systematic planting of trees and flowers in the vicinity of the building to enhance the beautiful scenery.

Since the facility is a symbol of India-Myanmar friendship, the Union Minister called for implementation of the tasks through cooperation and collaboration, while adhering to the standard quality. The Union Minister also inspected the project site and upgrading of the three-storey building to be used as SarpayBeikman public library.

It is learnt that the SarsoBeikman Building will be equipped with the international standard displays of its scale models as well as the palm-leaf manuscripts and writing tablets. Moreover, statues of prominent literati, life-time literary awardees and poets from three different Eras of Myanmar will be placed there.

With the structure of over 52,000 square feet area, the three-storey SarsoBeikman building will be implemented by the Indian Government fund. In order to show recognition to Myanmar Literary scholars and authors, the Head of State gave guidance for the establishment of the SarsoBeikman.

On behalf of the Ministry of Inforamation, the Printing and Publishing Department is taking responsibility for construction of SarsoBeikman, which will be constructed on the 2.18 acres land plot in Uyin Ward of Mingalataungnyut Township of Yangon Region.

The Urban and Housing Development Department under the Ministry of Construction has drafted the SarsoBeikman building design, while the Department of Building for budget estimation. The construction period is set as a two-year project.
