





As the infection rate of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant has increased again in local, people need to inject full doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
Director of Public Health Department Dr Than Naing Soe said that over 30 COVID-19 cases were found again around 30th June of this year and it was found in most of the people who were returnees from abroad. The cases were high again in the 3rd week of July and steadily, the infection was found in local.
Dr Than Naing Soe, Director, Public Health Department said "At the beginning and mid-April, Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5 started to be found in the internationals. In some countries, the infection rate has surged again and happed as a wave. In our country, the local transmission happened very lately due to the COVID-19 effective control measures at the international entry and exit gates. The local transmission rate become steadily high but we didn’t see rapid transmission. If we compare with vaccinated and unvaccinated group, the infection rate does not accelerate in the people who vaccinated against COVID-19."
The Director of Public Health Department added that the infection case is just around ten digits now and this is the advantage from the effective control measures at the entry and exit gates in line with the instruction of the Central Committee and the high vaccination coverage in the country and people are urged to follow COVID-19 preventive guidelines.
