Sao Paulo breaks 2025 heat record for second consecutive day

Sao Paulo of Brazil, broke the 2025 heat record for the second consecutive day on December 26, reaching a maximum temperature of 36.2°C amid a heatwave, according to the local government.

Summer began with a heat wave for the 12 million inhabitants of Sao Paulo. The city is currently under water rationing, following a year with the lowest rainfall in the last decade. According to scientific studies, global warming and hyper-urbanization are raising the temperature in Sao Paulo.
