Santiago's cable car celebrates its 100th anniversary

Dressed in 1920s attire, employees of Santiago's cable car welcomed passengers to celebrate the centenary of one of Latin America's "hottest tourist attractions". Over the past 100 years, the two-car funicular has transported millions of people to the top of San Cristobal Hill in the heart of the Chilean capital. 

The cable car system has three stations: Oasis Station, Tupahue Station, and Cumbre Station. The round trip between Oasis Station and Cumbre takes approximately 15 minutes.
