Sales of Medicines: Ministry of Industry held a work coordination

The Ministry of Industry is producing medicines and hospital furniture to fulfill the order demands from the Ministries of Defense, Health and Labor.

On Saturday, a work coordination meeting was held to discuss the purchase order of medicines and hospital furniture by the Ministry of Health.

Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than stressed that plans are underway to accelerate the pharmaceutical manufacturing operations as the Ministry has received more purchase orders from various departments. He added that the medicines and hospital supplies ordered in the 2023-2024 fiscal year are being managed for timely delivery prior to the end of fiscal year.

It is learnt that the Ministry earns an average of 40 billion kyats worth of BPI branded medicines annually.Duringthis fiscal year, the purchase orders valued at more than 81 billion kyats has been received from various departments, and the medicines worth about 41.95 billion kyats have been distributed as of January 2024.  

The Ministry of Industry will announce the purchase and manufacturing list of medicines that can be sold in the upcoming 2024-2025 fiscal year during this month.
