S.Africa's Ramaphosa meets Malaysia's Anwar ahead of ASEAN leaders' summit

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya ahead of the 47th ASEAN Summit. The bilateral meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment between South Africa and Southeast Asia. 

The visit marks his first official trip to Malaysia since taking office in 2018. Earlier in the day, Ramaphosa took part in the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2025.  Both leaders reaffirmed their countries’ shared goal of advancing South–South cooperation and promoting inclusive economic growth.
