Sacred Traditions: A day of devotion at Yangon's Pagodas

Being a significant day for Buddhist devotees, pagodas and temples in Yangon Region, on Wednesday, were crowded with pilgrims, performing meritorious deeds, taking Sabbath and pouring water to Bodh tree.

At Shwedagon Pagoda, the Water Pouring Ceremony was organized in the early morning, with various religious activities including offering Soon, flower, water, fruits and light to the Buddha image, reciting religious Gahtas, offering Soon to members of the Sangha, and consecrating the Bodhi tree.

Likewise, ceremonies to pour water to the Bodhi trees were held at the prominent pagodas across Yangon Region. The pilgrims were served with charity feasts, donated by the well-wishers.
